Are RS pots easy to turn?

Hey all. I'm looking to swap out my pots in a Hamer Newport. They work fine but they are too hard to rotate for my liking. I'm wanting to swap out the pups and thought I would do this at the same time.
I love the pots in my PRSi and they turn with ease using my pinky finger. The pots on the Hamer just require too much force so when I'm playing, I like to turn up the volume for leads and it just throws my off.
So, I've heard good things about RS guitar works pots and thought I might try these. Anyway, any help here would be great. Thanks.

They are CTS pots and are kinda stuff IMHO. You want Bourns pots, which are much easier to turn.

No and the taper is no good for gain.

Yes, they are CTS pots. No,they do not spin freely but they are not stiff either. Their taper is perfect for use with my home built Trainwreck Express clone which is about as gainy as a non-master volume amp can get.

Higher the gain the less use the taper. I suspect we are talking very different gain levels here,

Get the Seymour Duncan YJM pots. Super low torque and they're good for a gain bump at the end. IIRC, the Van Halen pots are very low torque too.

Both the YJM and EVH pots are Bourns, which as I said above are much easier to turn than CTS pots.

But they don't last very long. If you can find a loose CTS it will outlast it 10x.

Yes and crap quality. Buy in bulk! Mine go bad after a few months. Ricidulous. I suspect the Duncan branded ones would be the same as I think they Bourns too.

This is gonna go in a hamer Newport which is a hollowbody so is like to not change these out too often

the dimarzio CTS are decently low-torque and very well-made (unlike the cheap bourns stuff).

the taper is a little flatter than i like personally, i think it's 15% vs. a more typical 10%; good for bluesy or medium-gain cleanup but a little slow for my taste with heavier crunch.

I prefer the Mojotone labeled vintage taper pots. Easy, but not too easy, to turn, tight specs and reasonable price.

mojotone dude is a member here! (dave shepherd, aka "mojo tone") i remember him talking about developing these (can't find the thread though), i think he went with a very flat 30% taper.

Yes, and they are tough too! I was getting the Bourns pots for cheap, but the failure rate had me contacting CTS directly. Once I realized I couldn't afford a minimum order I scoured the web looking for the exact specs I wanted. Mojo had them and has a very nice price as well.

I have RS Guitar works pots in my guitar.

I don't find them stiff ect at all.

I did at 1st have the RS 280k Super Pot in the Volume position but had it taken our for a vintage correct taper.

I found the Super Pot came on to fast from 0-10.

I like to do volume swells and when the guitar is on 1 with the Super Pot it is ON. No slowly coming up in volume.

But I never have found the RS Stiff. They are made by CTS but to RS Specs.

If you do violin effects they are useless.

If you want vintage style pots yes, mojotone or you can get the Gibson custom shop historic pot also made by CTS but slow taper like the old centralab in 59 Les pauls. From Gibson it comes as a short sharf but the mojotone long shaft is great alternative!! I wouldn't use any other pot in my guitars. My fender 250ks are mojotone and short shaft 500k is Gibson custom shop.
